Teleport Launches Decentralized Rideshare at Consensus 2024, Offering More Affordable Rides and Increased Driver Earnings

AUSTIN, TX, May 16, 2024 - Teleport, a revolutionary new ridesharing app, has launched in Austin, Texas, with the start of Consensus 2024. Teleport promises to disrupt the industry by offering lower fares for riders while simultaneously significantly increasing driver earnings.

Traditional ridesharing companies spend heavily on recruiting riders and drivers, which increases the cost of rides and reduces driver earnings. Teleport takes a different approach by leveraging onchain rewards to incentivize current users to recruit new users, resulting in substantial savings that are split between riders and drivers.

As a result, on average, riders pay 15% less and drivers earn 85% of the fare.

"At Teleport, we believe that ridesharing should be affordable for everyone while also providing drivers with fair compensation for their work," said Paul Bohm, founder and CEO of Teleport. "By minimizing recruitment costs and sharing the savings with users, we're creating a fairer, more sustainable ridesharing ecosystem."

Teleport is powered by The Rideshare Protocol (TRIP): a new, fair and open network for ridesharing. With TRIP individual rideshare operators can come together to form a global network that better serves drivers, riders, and local economies.

Teleport's innovative model has already garnered attention from industry experts and consumers alike. Bradley Meyer of DePIN Connection, commented, "Teleport's approach to ridesharing is a game-changer. By aligning the interests of riders and drivers, they're poised to disrupt the market and set a new standard for the industry." Ryan Woosley, a former RideAustin ambassador says, “Austin is ready for a new and better rideshare”.
The company is calling on the Austin community and conference attendees to help spread the word about its groundbreaking service. "The more people who know about Teleport, the sooner everyone can benefit from lower fares and increased driver earnings," added Paul. "Together, we can free the rideshare market once and for all."

For the days of Consensus (May 29th-May 31st) a tie-dyed Cybertruck will be on the road driving for Teleport. If you’re lucky enough to ride in it, take photos and tag @teleportxyz on X.
